Daily Mirror - Icons Challenge

Today the search is on to identify the most powerful symbols of life in England.

ICONS has just announced 12 official ‘Icons of England’ – everything from a cup of tea to Stonehenge – to start things off. You can help us paint a virtual portrait of England through an exploration of everything that we cherish about life in this country.

Daily Mirror readers are among the first to be invited onto the ICONS site to take part in this exciting project.  Vote on the Mirror’s suggested nominations given here or nominate your own icon by clicking below.

We want hundreds more of YOUR nominations, complete with your anecdotes and memories about them. The icons you choose can be places, things, speeches, hymns, plays, songs, album covers or phenomena from anywhere in the country and every part of life. People are NOT acceptable as entries unless they are mythical or fictional figures.
