In Alice in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll takes this not-very-exciting old nursery rhyme and re-writes it to make it more interesting...
So here at ICONS we're inviting you to do the same. Choose an old rhyme or an old poem and create your own version. You can update it, you can change it so it's about someone you know, or a recent event, or a favorite celebrity... whatever you like!
We're delighted that wonderful and wonderfully funny poet Wendy Cope has agreed to judge the entries.
(In her book Making Cocoa for Kingsley Amis*, Wendy has written great parodies of Baa Baa Black Sheep' and 'Hickory Dickory Dock' ...)
The best entries will be published on the ICONS website, and the winner will also receive a collection of over a hundred new books for their school.
Send entries to education@icons.org.uk or by post to:
