The ICONS have landed!

ICONS launches its 3rd wave of Icons of England. Hundreds of new pages have been added to the ICONS online collection.


The new list of 20 Icons of England – chosen from nominations from thousands of people from England and around the globe – is another step in the creation of an online collection that aims to provide a snapshot of the life of the nation in the 21st Century.

ICONS has attracted hundreds of thousands of votes for the nation’s favourite icons. Prior to today’s launch there had been around a half of a million visits to the site, more than 6000 suggested nominations and over 350,000 votes. These figures are now rising rapidly in reaction to the recent media attention.
