The Heritage Land Rover Weekend will run from 3 and 4 May 2008 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first pre-production Land Rover (Land Rover has just been added as a new English icon).
The event will be taking place at the Heritage Motor Centre and will run over the course of two days.
Highlights include: a static display of all Land Rover
models from past to present, a special vehicles run, a classics run, the
trade and club village, interclub challenge, GO60
official start and children's sports day.
The show will be opened by Phil Popham on Saturday at 10am followed by the new heritage 60th Anniversary
Special Vehicles Run. BBC Radio 2 presenter Lynne Bowles will be providing
commentary throughout the show.
Sunday morning starts with the famous Heritage 60th Anniversary Classic Run - a
cavalcade with over a hundred special classic Land Rovers from the Association
of Land Rover Clubs taking part in the annual run from Land Rover in Solihull
to the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon. The Heritage Motor Centre’s
oldest Production Land Rover - “Hue”, will lead the cavalcade.
As part of Land Rover’s 60th anniversary celebration the Heritage Motor
Centre is also organising a special feature display of Land Rover vehicles. A
feature display vehicle must be in good quality and representative of the
vehicle when in use. If you think your vehicle is worthy of inclusion, and for
further information about the event, visit the Heritage Motor Centre's website.
