The Tube Sign at Piccadilly Circus
It shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that Richard E Grant has
nominated the old sign at Piccadilly Circus tube station. The sign,
which is overhead as you enter the tube and is probably as old as the
station itself, must have a special resonance for the cult actor.
In
the heart of London’s theatreland, Piccadilly tube is just a stone’s
throw from the Criterion Theatre where Richard is currently playing the
lead role in ‘Otherwise Engaged’ as egocentric publisher, Simon Hench.
"Grant
delivers the epigrammatic dialogue with assured panache while also
exposing something horribly reptilian beneath the floppy haired charm,"
said the Telegraph's Charles Spencer. The Criterion is taking bookings
for the show until 28 January 2006 www.criterion-theatre.com
