Like most owners I had wanted one since I was a boy and had to wait until I was 40 to have the spare cash and space, I have never looked back, not only is it the most fun you can have with your clothes on but these iconic british sports cars turn heads, invite comment and raise smiles wherever and whenever they go.

It's the only car I've ever driven where kids always wave at you, teenagers smile and nod approvingly, and adults, especially parents accompanying the aforementioned, they try to look as if they're not bothered, but the envy radiates around them.....

The smile- It is unique, ask any owner, the smile it puts on your face every time you drive it. The smiles you get from pedestrians and other road users, make you realise the esteem it is held in. Sadly lacking in today's society, but it puts the smile back into Britain.

I can drive the Seven anywhere, and it never fails to impress the crowds, it brings out the smiles - people start beaming from ear to ear.

Owning a Caterham 7 has been a passionate journey over 4 years! It is a car that you can buy off the shelf and enjoy, but the best ownership is the one that includes up-grade-itus! Where you spend years adding performance comfort and shiny bits and sharing the developments with the other mad owners. The next level of enjoyment is taking the Caterham to the track and thrashing it! Not allot of cars can drive so well, be so foregiving and able to drive home after a solid days thrashing! The car is like part of the familly, its performance (speed & Handling) embarrass super cars 10x its cost, it has a character that lights up childrens eyes as you pass them in the streets, towns and villages. It is also one of the last true British owned sports car manufacturers that ouzes character and is a true simbal of our sporting history and motor-racing pedigree!

The Seven is coming up to its 50th anniversary, and is still capable of showing most modern cars (even very expensive ones) a clean pair of heels. It is not a car for poseurs who want to use a car to demonstrate wealth, nor for wimps who need aircon, power everything, and a stereo, before they feel they can drive. Even in todays environmentally conscious world, it STILL makes sense, because it is no heavier or larger than it needs to be to do its job. As it has been described many times before, a 4 wheel motorbike.

Unmistakably English - this iconic machine is adored worldwide by everyone who loves driving. Classless and thankfully only driven by true petrolheads for their simplicity and the awesome performance. I've owned one since 1973 so possibly I'm biased!
