Sooty

Ever since his first appearance on BBC, the sometimes naughty yet always kind bear Sooty and his friends (Sweep and Soo) have captured the attentions and imaginations of children all around the world. Harry Corbett and his son Matthew created an English icon that has become a lasting memory in the hearts of many - few will ever forget Sooty's magic tricks, general cheekiness, or constantly squirting water pistol. Few children's shows have been as popular internationally as Sooty's adventures in England. "Bye bye everyone! Bye bye!" – James Liao, nominator.
