The Express Lift Tower, Northampton

A Grade II-listed building and an icon of late 1970s engineering and construction, the Express Lift Tower in Northampton dominates the local landscape. Opened by the Queen in 1982 and dubbed the Northampton Lighthouse by Terry Wogan, it is unique and truly deserves nomination.
