A Cup of Tea

Things to Do

A few suggestions from the tea lovers at ICONS!

  • Make a cup of tea! Not the most original suggestion, but read on... You've been making tea all your life, perhaps, but have you been doing it right? Find out how to make the perfect cup. Have you been getting it wrong all along?

  • And when you've done that, why not have a go at reading the leaves? Read more about this here.

  • Slightly more ambitious than just making a cuppa for yourself, why not get a few friends together for a tea party? Or how about hosting a Japanese-style tea ceremony? Read about these here.

  • For some of the most romantic tea-drinking in cinema history, why not settle down (with a box of tissues and a cuppa, of course) to watch Brief Encounter?

  • If you're a budding potter you could try making a pot, or a tea cup and saucer. If this seems a bit complicated, why not just decorate one? "Paint your own" places have sprung up across the country where you can choose a cup/mug/pot/plate and then decorate it, messy but fun! If you produce anything wonderful or weird, why not send us a picture, here?

  • Make new friends and dance away the afternoon at a tea dance - your local council or library should have details.
