The Archers
Borsetshire
The Archers is set in the fictional (but real to some) village of Ambridge. In the show, this area has been home of the South Borsetshire Hunt whose kennels were at Netherbourne Hall. The annual Hunt Ball and Boxing Day meet were all important events in the county's social calendar.
Chimes
Every day on Radio Four, (home of the Archers) at 6pm, listeners are treated to the chimes of Big Ben. Recent repairs to the bells meant that birdsong was played instead!
Two finger salute
There is an alternative name for the V-sign stemming from the myth that it came about during the Battle Of Agincourt. It can also be known as flicking an "Archers Salute" or just "Archers" as in "He just flicked me an Archers!"
