The Lake District

Phantom

The church at Renwick in the Lake District was supposedly haunted by a giant phanton bat. Villagers claimed they could sense its presence by a sudden chill in the air.

Constable

John Constable, painter of "The Hay Wain", also drew and painted around the Lake District from September 1 to October 19 1806. He made almost one hundred drawings and watercolours during this trip.
