Porchester Baths

Porchester Baths

When does an acclaimed actress like Jemma Redgrave find the time to chill out? Well known for combining her career with family life by taking her two sons onto film sets with her, she’s carved out a solid reputation in TV and film roles, as well as on stage – most memorably perhaps in Chekov’s Three Sisters with her aunts Vanessa and Lynn Redgrave in 1990.

In her spare time, she apparently enjoys kickboxing and she was an active member of the Don’t Attack Iraq movement in 2002 and 2003. But if she’s looking for some serious down time, it seems the Porchester Spa Turkish Baths on Queensway hit the spot. They are Jemma Redgrave’s nomination.

“The Porchester Baths is a Victorian municipal Turkish Baths in Paddington, London - de-tox to re-tox. It's a fantastic way to relax and chat with girl friends, with a great mix of ages, bodies and cultures – wonderful!” she said.

Jemma Redgrave

Part of a high-profile family of award-winning actors, Jemma Redgrave’s grandparents were Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson, her father is the actor director Corin Redgrave, her aunts are Vanessa and Lynn Redgrave and her cousins are Natasha and Joely Richardson. With a family like that, it’s no surprise that all she wanted to do as a child was act. Her film career includes Howard’s End and, more recently, Lassie and Lewis and her prolific TV roles have included The Buddha Of Suburbia, Diana: Her True Story, Bramwell, Cold Blood and Amnesia. She’s married to Tim Owen QC.
