Is this an icon?

or

Barbour Green Waxed Cotton Jacket

Surely this (along with the green wellington boot) is the ultimate symbol of our relationship with our climate and landscape? Yes it rains here a lot, but that’s the way we like it. There is really no such thing as bad weather in England, just a bad choice of clothing.

I was amazed to learn from some American friends, who were admiring a Barbour jacket in a Motorway service area shop, that Barbour clothing is unknown in the USA. There is, of course, nothing so good as waxed cotton for wamth, comfort and serviceability and I can't understand why the Americans don't buy Barbour.
