Beowulf is the earliest recognisable unifying feature of all things British. It's the Romulus and Remus of England. It is also one of the great epics of the world.

Beowulf is an epic story of sword wielding warriors; Part myth part fantasy. It is probably the oldest surviving English story and I certainly think it should be treasured by all of us.
