The Illuminations are just so jolly - families walking the length of the lights, wrapped up against the wind and rain, wearing the season's silly cheap accessory (luminous hats, sprakly wigs) and eating fish and chips. Fabulous..makes you proud to be British.

People vote with their cars and their feet when it comes to Blackpool illuminations. The visitor numbers are astounding and the 'lights' are part of the British heritage. There is always something new to see in addition to the enjoyment to be had from the old favourites The smiles of joy in this traditional family free entertainment help to understand why the end of summer and the arrival of autumn isn't the same without a visit to see the famous Blackpool illuminations.
