Royal Albert Railway Bridge

Brunel's railway bridge over the Tamar is an extremely innovative solution to bridge-building problems. It looks great, and it established the rail connection between London and Cornwall.

Brunel's Royal Albert Bridge is the most famous of his railway bridges and an ICON because of its unique design. An innovation never repeated. It is two bridges in one.

Brunel's last great work, the magnificent Royal Albert Bridge spans the waters of the River Tamar at Saltash near Plymouth linking Devon and Cornwall. One of the great engineering masterpieces of England and by one of our greatest engineers.
