Mr. Bean

Is this an icon?

or

Mr. Bean

How can we do justice to Mr Bean using words? His genius lies in his silence. Rowan Atkinson had been developing this oddball character for many years before he was finally given the name Mr Bean and made his television debut in 1990. A hit with audiences of all ages, and most significantly, of all races, the programme has been sold to more than 245 territories around the globe. Mr Bean exists as a live action series, an animated series and in his very own feature film. Although Mr Bean has never won an award in his home country, he is the most popular British comedy export worldwide and is, for many people, an international ambassador for the English. The fun comes from elaborate sight gags, slapstick and the remarkable facial features of his creator. Mr Bean is an innocent in the modern world, someone who manages to make the simplest things impossibly difficult. He can be vindictive and self-centred (can’t we all?) but will ultimately capture your heart.
