Subbuteo

Subbuteo - the table-top version of the national game - has been around for more than fifty years, and is familiar to generations of children of all ages. It has featured in literature and songs. It was sold around the world. It is the only English toy to have been 'Toy of the Year' in two different decades. Its appeal endures.

Great to see Subbuteo nominated. It was my late father, Peter Adolph who invented Subbuteo in 1947. Too many stories and memories to recount here, but they are told in my book "Growing Up With Subbuteo" for anyone who is interested! Cheers!
