The Avro Vulcan

The Vulcan was the last great purely English engineered plane. A bomber with the performance of a fighter. An instantly recognisable sillouette. A peacekeeper for twenty years, then as it was being taken out service came its finest moment. The attack on the airport at Port Stanley, thousands of miles from the nearest base. Finally, just look at the anticipation of those waiting for it to take to the skies once again...

Mr Hodson is entirely incorrect in his comment that the Vulcan was the last English engineered aeroplane. What about the BA146 and the BA Hawk? The latter being probably the most successful aircraft to ever to come out of the British Aircraft Industry.
