A country village

The English village is one of the most representative icons of England and Englishness. Its essential elements of a church, pub, green and pond set around the villagers' homes - all cheek by jowl speaks of the English love of community and sociableness. The English are home lovers, lovers of their community, friendly, cheerful and sociable. There is nothing quite like an English village, and the English pub is a reflection of the people who frequent it. Our villages are one of our greatest asssets and represent hundreds of years of peaceful and communal settlement.
