The National Trust

Because it gives us a chance to visit historic houses and gardens which, without the National Trust, might not exist any more. While a sense of history runs deep in the English people, it is worth remembering that foreign tourists, too, gain insight into English culture and manners, not only by looking at the properties of the National Trust, but also by reading the most impressive literature produced by it.

The National Trust does more to protect Britains heritage than any other British Institution, it is an icon that preserves other icons of England.
David Stephen

This organisation is responsible for the upkeep of many of our National treasures, from castles to old houses, from beautiful gardens to miles of spectacular coastline. Without the organisation and the support of its members much of our iconic heritage would be lost forever
